The Best Way to Brew Loose-Leaf Tea On the Go

The Best Way to Brew Loose-Leaf Tea On the Go

Loose-leaf tea almost always tastes better than a bag - more aroma, less of the dusty, bitter edge you get from broken tea-bag fannings. The problem has always been convenience: brewing it properly usually means a teapot and a strainer, neither of which fit in a bag.

What an in-flask infuser actually solves

A removable tea separator - the kind built into every Thermoscup - lets you brew directly in the flask you're carrying. Add your loose leaves to the stainless steel basket, pour hot water over it, and lift the basket out once it's brewed to your taste, so the tea doesn't keep steeping (and turning bitter) for the rest of the day.

Getting the brew right

Most loose-leaf teas want water a little under boiling (delicate green and white teas especially) and 2-4 minutes of contact time. Since the separator lifts straight out, you're in full control - no need to time it perfectly, just check and lift when it tastes right.

It works for fruit and cold brew too

The same basket works for infusing sliced fruit into cold water, or for a slower cold-brew tea steeped over a few hours in the fridge before you head out.

One flask, on the move

The point of a 304 stainless steel infuser built into the flask itself is that you don't need a separate teapot, strainer or infuser ball at home before you leave - just leaves, hot water, and a Thermoscup.
